Quilted Fabrics

Fabric layers stitched together with padding/batting in between. A fabric construction in which a layer of fill—often down, cotton or batting—is sandwiched in between two other fabrics, and stitched together in crisscross lines. Often used in outerwear, sleepwear and bedding, quilting adds warmth for cozy comfort.

Description

  • Quilted fabrics are fabrics composed of wadding sandwiched between two layers of outer materials to form one thick and durable fabric.
  • Typically, quilting is done with three layers: the top fabric or quilt top, batting or insulating material and backing material, but many different styles are adopted.
