Linen

A fabric made from the fibers of flax plant. Coarse fibers taken from inside the woody stem of the flax plant is used to make this fabric. Linen is considered cool, absorbent, breathable and durable fabric. The fibers are much stronger and more lustrous than cotton. Linen fabrics are very cool and absorbent but wrinkle very easily unless blended with manufactured fibers.

Description

  • Linen fabric is comfortable and the fabric has good strength.
  • It is twice as strong as Cotton.
  • It can be made with both light weight and heavy weight; no pilling problems in the fabric and abrasion resistant.
  • It is a highly absorbent fabric as well as a good conductor of heat.
  • Linen clothing feels cool to the touch and the fabric will quickly remove perspiration from the skin.
